Hello friends,
Living in Madison, WI, you tend to experience quite a bit of political hoopla. People divide themselves on so many fronts; one such front is the ever-so popular pro-life/pro-choice debate. Let’s think a bit about those labels: “pro-life” and “pro-choice.” I doubt anyone you know would ever say that they are “anti-life” or “anti-choice.” These terms are merely coined to gain favor for their corresponding parties–specifically the term “pro-choice.” In reality, advocates for “choice” are more accurately described as “pro-convenient-choice.”
That is the beautiful thing about Biking for Babies. We are pro-choice. Rather, we are “pro the right choice.” The money we raise goes to women’s care centers around the country, supplying them with funds to afford supplies (diapers etc) and counseling for women, thus making the right choice a bit easier to make. Instead of fighting the policy battle (which, don’t get me wrong, is imperative to our mission), we are fighting on the cultural front. If we can help women feel like there are alternatives, judgement-free places where caring people can help you choose life, then we can truly renew the culture of life in America (clever Nick, sneaking the B4B slogan into his blog post…).
This is where you all come in! All we do is ride bikes (or, in my case, drive vans). Without all of your support, we would just be a handful of crazy college kids dripping their weight in sweat across half the country. But with your donations and your prayers, we truly can make difference; it’s only with your support that we can win this cultural battle.
I wouldn’t be doing my job as “social media specialist” if I didn’t insert a little plug in here: be sure to LIKE our Facebook page and follow us on Twitter if you haven’t already. If you have, then please spread the word to your friends! All of your support–both financially and spiritually–is very much appreciated by the entire B4B crew and, more importantly, women and children everywhere. May God bless all of you, and keep the prayers coming! Together, we are all Warriors of Virtue.
Yours in Christ,
Nick
