This has been a crazy time in my life. I’m graduating college, becoming an officer in the US military, and starting medical school. Times of transition make you put your life into perspective and question who you are. You literally have the chance to completely reinvent yourself. In my journey, I’ve decided to be someone who always stands up for what they believe in, and that’s why I’ve joined Biking for Babies.
Now, who I am has been shaped by the people in my life. I have been blessed with friends, family, and mentors who inspire me to be my best by picking me up when I’m at my worst. They give me cookies when I’m sick, bring me coffee when I’m studying, offer me advice when I’m struggling, and tell me corny jokes when I’m in a bad mood. My relationship with others has helped me answer who I am, but the more haunting question is who might have been. The tragedy of a child dying is the loss of their future possibilities. Every time a woman gets an abortion, the unborn child is robbed of their future. But have you ever realized that all of society loses the contributions that child had the potential to make. Just think, what hero never got their chance to shape our lives?
The slogan for my alma mater is, “What starts here changes the world.” This is our opportunity to stand up and be the change we want to see. Supporting Biking for Babies allows us to protect those who can’t defend themselves and to change our society. Help us make the transition from a culture of death to a culture of life. The pro-life movement isn’t just a bunch of outdated stuffy politics. It’s real people like you and me who want the world to reach its full potential. But, that will only happen if we do something about it.
